Baghel on NDA 3.0: 'Govt will form, fights will start'

Bhupesh Baghel predicts conflict in NDA 3.0: 'Government will form, fights will begin'

Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi and his council of ministers are set to take the oath of office at 7:15 pm on June 9. This follows his appointment by President Droupadi Murmu, after BJP chief J P Nadda submitted a letter confirming Modi's election as the leader of the BJP Parliamentary Party. The BJP won 240 seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections, and with their allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), they secured a total of 293 seats, surpassing the majority mark in the 543-member House.

Bhupesh Baghel predicts mid-term elections

Former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister and Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel has claimed that mid-term Lok Sabha elections might be held within a year. On social media platform X, Baghel urged his supporters to prepare for potential elections in six months to a year. He noted the political instability in the states governed by the BJP, mentioning that Maharashtra's Devendra Fadnavis is resigning, Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Adityanath's position is unstable, and Bhajan Lal Sharma is also uncertain.

Baghel also commented on the demands of NDA ally Janata Dal (United), such as cancelling the Agniveer scheme and conducting a caste census, which he said are issues raised by Rahul Gandhi. Baghel believes these differences will lead to conflicts within the government. He stated, "The government will be formed, and the fight will start. When the fights begin, it won't take long for the house to erode."

Congress Leader's criticism

Baghel criticized the internal disagreements within the NDA, predicting that these disputes will lead to significant issues for the coalition. He highlighted the recent Lok Sabha election results in Chhattisgarh, where the BJP won 10 out of 11 seats, with Congress securing only one seat in Korba.
